“With nimble use of alternating viewpoints, Blackstock has delivered a fine follow-up to If I Run that ratchets up the tension for the final installment.” (Publishers Weekly)'Emotions, tensions and suspense all run high in this fast-paced, edge-of-your-seat thriller. The continuing storyline in Blackstock’s If I Run series keeps readers hungrily devouring each new book and waiting impatiently for the next.' (RT Book Reviews, 4 1/2 stars, TOP PICK) Terri Blackstock has sold over seven million books worldwide and is a New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling author. In this riveting sequel to the USA TODAY bestseller If I Run, evil lurks, drawing Casey out of the shadows . . . but there is light shining in the darkness.
Casey Cox is still on the run, fleeing prosecution for a murder she didn’t commit. Dylan Roberts—her most relentless pursuer—is still on her trail, but his secret emails insist he knows the truth and wants to help her. He’s let her escape before when he had her in his grasp, but trust doesn’t come easily.
As Casey works to collect evidence about the real murderers, she stumbles on another unbearable injustice: an abused child and a suicidal man who’s also been falsely accused. Casey risks her own safety to right this wrong and protect the little girl from her tormenters. But doing so is risky and may result in her capture—and if she’s captured, she has no doubt she’ll be murdered before she ever steps foot in a jail cell.
though I did like it a bit better than the last one in ... My rating: 3 to 3.5 starsI had such mixed feelings about this book, though I did like it a bit better than the last one in this series. At times, I absolutely hated it and found myself thinking, "There is no way I will ever read the last volume of this series." By the time the book ended, though, I had changed my mind about that and there were parts of the book that I ended up enjoying. There were definitely some things that bugged me at times. The story can be so heavy in places that I didn't want to keep reading. This book also includes a trigger warning for suicidal thoughts, as did the first book in the series.I found myself thinking with frustration, "Why don't they just head to an FBI office in another area instead of going about this the way they are? Why!? Why?? WHY???" If she is a fugitive crossing state lines, wouldn't the FBI be working on her case anyway?I liked that the connection between Casey and Dylan had a chance to get going in this book. The addition of Dex, another "good guy" also helped a lot with the way I ended up feeling about the story.Overall, I liked it at some points and hated in others, so my rating stands a bit in the middle. It was definitely better than the first one. I'm looking forward to reading the last book when it's released in March.Another adrenaline laced thrill ride. Last year’s If I Run was one of my personal favourites for 2016 so I was eagerly awaiting the release of the follow up book 2 If I’m Found. I was not to be disappointed. If you haven’t read If I Run - stop reading IMMEDIATELY and RUN out and get a copy - or easier, download to your e reader. That’s because If I’m Found doesn’t dilly dally with any “Previously on . . . “ but jumps straight into the action regardless of how many months ago one read the first instalment. I love the confidence in that - of course we will remember what happened before, that’s how exciting it was!!Casey Cox is back along with her nemesis Dylan Roberts, but with more and more evidence beginning to convince Dylan that Casey isn’t the hardened fugitive he once imagined. This thawing long distance relationship forges a uneasy alliance between the hunter and the hunted. It makes for a taunt adrenaline laced tale which is a story one wants to plough through as quickly as possible rather than saver. This reminded me of the TV series 24 on speed. Just when you pause to catch you breath - the next scene leaves you breathless all over again.Personally it’ll be a hard 11 months until If I Live releases - but I’m sure the tension will hold on out and it will all play out to a satisfying conclusion. No pressure then!!.As usual: a fantastic read! If you haven't read If I Run, that's okay, but you would lose a little bit of the story and some parts of this book wouldn't make sense. I like books that run in a trilogy where book two picks up where book one left off, and book three picks up immediately after two. (Waiting patiently for book three).Terri Blackstock delivers another wonderful story that kept me reading into the early morning hours and turning the pages to see what would happen. With If I'm Found, the small story plot that Casey finds herself involved in isn't as intimate as the previous book. She is more of that outside observer who makes a difference through secondary resources.Again, I am enjoying a character who is feminine and yet not helpless. Casey Cox is portrayed as a strong Southern woman who doesn't cower before an adversary. I can't help but feel my heart speed up with every close call.Dylan is a man I'm beginning to admire greatly. His own shortcomings make me more human and real to me. He isn't this chiseled, perfect specimen swooping in to save the damsel. He's a man of God determined to bring justice to the wrongs committed.Terri Blackstock also portrays the mind of a soulless man well without giving in to compromise and using vulgar or coarse language. This heightens the tension of the story and gives it an elevation that made me read faster and spurred me on this suspenseful journey. If I'm Found superseded If I Run. And I'm extremely excited, but still willing to be patient, to read the next installment and see how the story will conclude. As always, another great book by a truly wonderful author.
